We present Claudi Meneghin's «Variations on Handel's Harmonious Blacksmith Theme», a set of 11 microtonal variations, for organ, in F. Tuning is as follows (edo = equal division of the octave): • Var 00 - Theme (Rameau's Tempérament Ordinaire) • Var 01 - 15-edo • Var 02 - 13- & 11-edo • Var 03 - 19-edo (Ouverture) • Var 04 - 17-edo • Var 05 - 18-edo • Var 06 - 21-edo • Var 07 - 14-edo • Var 08 - 22-edo • Var 09 - 20-edo • Var 10 - 16-edo • Var 11 - Chaconne (Blacksmith, 15-edo). 🙂

THE «RISING CRY», Chord Progression Featuring the French Augmented FIfth Chord, and rising by tones

 

Inspired by  @EarlyMusicSources ' «The Most French Chord», here's a short video featuring six Augmented 5th French Chords [1,2,3], alternated with six dominant chords, raising by tones and harmonising a chromatic bass line. Shepard effect has been added. Tuning is 12-equal division of the octave. The augmented 5th chord is called «The Cry», after prof.  We present an Arietta with 5 variations for Organ, rendered into 72-edo (as quasi-just intonation), 36-edo, 46-edo. In all cases, septimal harmony has been extensively used.

Petzold's Minuet in G major from Bach's Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach. This piece was formerly attributed to Bach, BWV Anh 114. Transposed to D major, arranged for classical guitar and performed by Claudi Meneghin on 2025-03-02.
